[Tudor Coin] Cheryl Riley designed this table as one of a matching pair. She embellished its surface with gold and copper leaf and studded it with Nigerian coins.

Riley's inspirations included the jewel-studded costumes worn by Renaissance English royalty and traditional African masks, making the table a lively mix of New and Old World sources. The eclectic nature of her work is characteristic of current American design trends.
