[Hat] Minnie Pearl (b. 1912) has remained one of the most popular stars of the Grand Ole Opry. This hat with the price tag still attached symbolizes Minnie to all her fans.

Over the last 30 years--in large part due to the Grand Ole Opry -- country music has grown from a regional into an international phenomenon. It addresses the joys, sorrows, and tragedies of our everyday lives. This is the secret of its appeal.
