The Kaapor, who live in the tropical forests of northeastern Brazil, are well known for their spectacular feather ornaments.
This man's crown is composed of three elements -- a cotton band, feather strings, and feather pendants. When a man wears it, the headdress opens over the eyes like a sun visor, and the feather pendants fall over the temples. Men usually wear these head ornaments for ceremonial occasions |
