[Jacket] Cesar Chavez inspired the United States public to demand just compensation for some of its poorest laborers. A second-generation Mexican American and a migrant worker since childhood, he dedicated his life to improving the lot of his fellow workers.

Chavez established the first effective farm workers' union in 1962 by organizing predominantly Latino-Californian migrant laborers. Through strikes, marches, boycotts, and fasts, the union began winning better working conditions and still continues its mission.
