The American Flags

The original Star-Spangled Banner (above right), housed at the National Museum of American History, survived the September 1814 bombardment of Baltimore harbor's Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy. The flag was photographed in 1874 in the Boston Naval Yard (above left).
