On May 20-21, 1927 Charles Lindbergh made the first solo, nonstop flight across the Atlantic in the
Spirit of St. Louis
. After the 3,610-mile, 33.5-hour, NewYork-to-Paris flight, Lindbergh donated his single-engine Ryan NYP to the Smithsonian.
