"Dave's Dream"

"Dave's Dream", a 1969 Ford LTD lowrider acquired by the Smithsonian in 1990, was originally owned by David Jaramillo, of Chimayo, New Mexico. Decorated with colorful folk art and lined with plush fabrics, the chassis of this lowrider is capable of "hopping" more than a foot by means of battery-operated hydraulic pumps.
