Tour the Castle West Wing After its First 50 Years

[coral]Corals and Sponges

The coral collection is one of great value and beauty, and represents many faunal regions. A11 the species from the fishing banks of eastern North America are represented. The sponges include those from Florida, the Bahamas, and the Mediterranean, &c. The corals, which have been mounted in the most perfect manner by Mr. E. H. Hawley, of the National Museum, are believed to be more artistically and tastefully exhibited than any similar collection in the world.
