Skeletons of Famous Race Horses


"LEXINGTON" Equus caballus Skeleton of the famous Race Horse "Lexington," which made the fastest time, 7.19 minutes, in four-mile heat, on record up to l 868. Presented at the request of Dr. J. M. Toner, of Washington, by Mr. Alexander, of Kentucky. The mounted skin of Lexington can be seen at the Army Medical Museum.

"HENRY CLAY," the progenitor of the American race of trotting horses, presented by Hon. E. Corning, of Albany, and Mr. Henry O. Jewett, of Buffalo.
