"Carreta" or 0x Wagon


Made of cottonwood, Populus monilifera, without the use of metal, by the Pueblo and other Indians of New Mexico and Arizona, after a style introduced by Spaniards, which is still used in Spain and Portugal. Body length, 6 feet, 3 inches; breadth, 4 feet, 4 inches; height, 4 feet, 2 inches. Length of tongue, 8 feet 11 inches; length of axle 8 feet 11 inches; diameter of wheels, 3 feet 7 inches; thickness of hubs, 1 foot 7 inches.
