View of the towers of the Smithsonian Institution Building dated 1930. The Campanile, North Tower, Southeast Tower and Flag Tower were visible. Men were erecting a new flag pole on the North Tower. The previous flag pole had been removed due to its unsafe condition.

Exterior view of the towers of the Smithsonian Institution Building with the Washington Monument prominently visible in the background. The view from the east showed the Campanile, North Tower, Flag Tower and Octagon Tower. In 1980 a nineteenth-century statue of St. Dunstan was installed from Westminster Abbey on the South Tower, which is to the left of the towers visible in the photograph.

View of the towers of the Smithsonian Institution Building from its roof. The south sides of the North Tower and Flag Tower were visble, with the reconstructed roof of the former and the clock of the latter. The view of the National Musuem of Natural History was sited by the Castle's finial.
